In this episode, Dr Istratii presented the main arguments of her monograph Adapting Gender and Development to Local Religious Contexts: A Decolonial Approach to Domestic Violence in Ethiopia (Routledge, 2020) and discussed the alternative, more humble, self-aware and exploratory, approach suggested in the book to analysing gender-related issues and domestic violence in non-western epistemological systems and to designing responses that are religio-culturally appropriate.
