On 1 November 2021 project dldl/ድልድል completed its first year of work. The project team celebrated the learning, progress and milestones achieved in 2020-2021 by means of an anniversary virtual meeting that included project partners, co-investigators, staff, advisers and external guests and supporters.

In general, there was agreement on the success of project dldl/ድልድል so far and deep appreciation by the team members, partners and advisers for the knowledge on domestic violence, faith and culture that was achieved, disseminated and translated into societal impact through the work of the project dldl/ድልድል. Despite the war erupting in northern Ethiopia just as the project was ready to start there, and the challenges posed by the global covid-19 pandemic, the team considered that all key milestones had been met and expressed eagerness to scale out and expand the project’s reach into the next phase.

On the occasion of the one year anniversary the project received a congratulatory letter from the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE on the work of project dldl/ድልድል in the past year. OCP is a Pan-Orthodox Christian Society established in India dedicated to Christian unity and inter-faith dialogue. The letter expresses appreciation for the work of the project and its dedicated team of colleagues and partners in Ethiopia and Eritrea in the past year.
